The Mission Renew trip last summer was extremely fun and had a great impact on my faith. Of all the great things about the mission trip, my two favorites were the kids that we worked with and the people that made up the “Mission Renew Crew”.
The kids that we were with had so little, yet they were so happy. It was amazing at how much their face would light up at just the sight of a small bouncy ball or an old pair of shoes. But what really made them the happiest was a simple high five, handshake, or hug. These kids taught me that the less you have, the easier it is to appreciate what you have, however little that is. The “Mission Renew Crew” also made the trip so awesome. Everyone who went on the mission to Haiti was so laid back and friendly. I barely knew anyone going into the trip, but by the time it was over, we were all like family.
I can’t wait to go back to Haiti this summer for many reasons. There is so much to do there and we made such an impact. But most importantly, I miss the kids we were with; I can’t wait to see them again. I can’t wait to see what this next trip to Haiti holds for the Mission Renew Crew.
